Do Whitestrips Work?

If you have visited the toothpaste aisle at your local Comstock Park grocery store, you have probably noticed dozens of products that claim to whiten your teeth. A few years ago, the only over-the-counter tooth whitening options in Rockford MI were whitening toothpastes and Crest Whitestrips. Developing Good Dental Habits In Grand Rapids

Benjamin Franklin once said:

It’s Not Too Late To Get Them Straight

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are a thin coat of clear resin that is applied to the biting surfaces of teeth, usually the rear molars. The back teeth are more prone to cavities because it is difficult to reach them with a tooth brush and the surfaces contain pits and grooves that easily trap bacteria. It is hard for many adults to clean their back molars and almost impossible for our young Rockford MI children.

Dental sealants fill in the pits and grooves on the rear molars to create a smooth surface. Dentists practicing family dentistry in Rockford MI most often recommend sealants for children’s permanent back teeth, though sometimes they are used for adults, too.

Grand Rapids Dentist: Calming Root Canal Fears

In the Grand Rapids area, a dentist’s office is sometimes seen as a painful and scary place. However, endodontic therapy, a dental procedure commonly known as a root canal, still carries a strong association with pain that sometimes keeps people from regularly visiting the dentist and tending optimally to their dental health.
